Coach and Facilitator
My name is Chris Rubick and I live bayside in Melbourne.
You really need to ask my clients and the people I work alongside that question! In 1:1 coaching I aim to help people understand ‘what they really want’. In doing that I hold space and make it safe for them to explore their whole self. Once we have clarity on what they want, we set out with the mission statement of: “Let’s go find out how good you can be’.
Peter Drucker once said “stop trying to be successful and just focus on being useful”. So as a student of Humanistic and Performance Psychology I am trying to be useful in helping individuals, teams, and organisations be and become their best.
It will always be tailored to a client’s individual needs, challenges and goals. The experience has a foundation in humanistic psychology and the science of motivation – specifically our psychological needs. This is the foundation that drives everything that we do so we have to harness that as individuals and teams. I take the best of performance psychology to assist people in creating the habits and practices they want to change, while building a system that will support their best.
Awesome people! My work in culture and leadership encompasses 1:1 coaching, leadership programs and working directly with teams. I am extremely lucky to work with people and teams across various industries from consulting and professional services to energy and building, as well as sport - in-particular partnering with governing bodies in sport to make a difference across communities.
Again… others can answer this better than I can!But after a 1:1, people often tell me they shared more with me than they expected; so I trust that’s because I don’t bring judgement and hold space for them to explore. I love bringing this to teams and groups as well.
As a huge fan of the work of Dr Michael Gervais – I’m a Coach because I want people to have an inner-knowing of who they are and what they stand for. And then stand for it. To do this they are going to have to tangle with FOPO (Fear of People’s Opinions).
In my work as a Coach I aim to bring the values of care, curiosity, analytical thinking and accountability, whilst always keeping it real.
When I set out on my journey in psychology I thought I was going to be a Sports Psychologist. So whilst I took a different path, I have a love of all sports which is fulfilled through coaching AFL, being a mindset coach for rowing crews or watching my nephews play football. Or, working on my own golf game.
And of course I have the fun and adventure of being a ‘Dad’ to my English Staffy Henry! Fellow Staffy owners know what I am talking about here.
