Lilian Kikuvi
Lillian helps leaders and teams supercharge the power of diversity and inclusion. Across her portfolio career as a speaker, facilitator, and consultant, she combines African Indigenous and Western methodologies to help organisations capture real business improvements through a focus on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I). In the last 5 years, Lillian has served clients like NBCUniversal, Fidelity International, Australian Nuclear Science and Technology (ANSTO), Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and Sportsbet.
Lillian managed a one-of-a-kind, radically innovative pilot sponsored by the Chief Diversity Officer of a Fortune 10 company. Their leaders underwent a 3-month program that exists at the intersection of Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) and leadership development. The success of the pilot resulted in the operationalisation of the program across the globe. The program continues to shape the decisions and impact of some of the most senior organisational leaders in the world today.
Lillian believes collaboration is key to achieving systemic and sustainable change. This philosophy has informed her strategic partnerships with businesses like The Coach Place. Another alliance that Lillian has is with Culturally Diverse Women, where sheI works as an Advisory Board Member serving a network of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) women, allies, and advocates. Lillian is honoured to be a part of this social enterprise that has supported over 300 CALD women from 25 cultural heritages to close the leadership cultural diversity gap in Australian businesses.
Collaboration also inspired Lillian to join the Advisory Council formulated in mid-2022 by the Victorian Government and Women of Colour Australia (WoCA). During the engagement period, she has provided strategic input to support the design of the first Executive Leadership Program (ELP) for Women of Colour, which is scheduled to commence in 2023. The ELP will align with the renewal of Victoria’s Gender Equality Strategy and the implementation of the Gender Equality Act in Victoria, which aims to increase the pipeline of diverse women in leadership positions over time.
In 2022, Lillian had the pleasure of also working with Nosworthy Group to architect and pilot a micro-learning program with Microsoft, which is focused on influence in the workplace. This program has now been scaled by the organisation and is oversubscribed for intakes in the year ahead.
Prior to the above experience, Lillian spent 15 year’s working in the finance, government, and community sectors where she held various mid - senior management, operations improvement, and advocacy roles.
Lillian is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Director (AICD), and is also a qualified counsellor and holds a Bachelor’s degree and Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology.
Lilian Kikuvi (she/her) was inspirational and engaging. Asking us to think about how we share our own narrative in a way that makes a difference. Thank you for helping us to think differently and sharing the Kenyan philosophy of Harambee and how we ‘all pull together’.
Our leadership team recently had the benefit of being able to attend one of Lilian’s presentations on diversity and inclusion, what an inspiring speaker Lilian was! Our team was totally engaged for the session and all agreed it was very motivating, very insightful and of great benefit to the team on the day. Lilian’s inspiring presentation and story-telling gave all our team something to take from the session and we all agreed on the importance to make some changes in our thinking, our perceptions and language used and take the necessary steps to build a plan that aligns with our own business.
