At the time of sharing this article with you there are 107 days until we reach January 1, 2022. We know! 2022 is going to be here before we know it, and for many people the 1st day of a new year is a time for resetting, readjusting, and creating newly promised habits and goals. As you can imagine, we coaches don’t believe in waiting for the ‘right‘ time. We do however believe in doing the work on yourself that creates space for healthy and thoughtful personal growth. So let’s start your reset now.
If you are planning for your 2022 to be different in any way, here are 5 coaching questions to support your reflecting and planning:
- What do I need to unlearn?
- What is really working in my life?
- What do I need to stop doing?
- What most needs my attention?
- What do I want my life to look like and feel like in 1 years’ time?
Use these questions to write in a journal or as conversation starters with a trusted person in your life. The habits, strategies and beliefs that have served you well in the past, might not be what will work for you going forward. It’s important to know what’s working well so that you can do more of that! We sometimes find that people start with writing goals and get stuck. We suggest thinking more broadly first, which is why we spend lots of time on question 5 with coaching clients. Be light hearted and playful with what’s possible, before you get strategic and specific.
If you are looking for some resources to stretch your thinking, these might help:
- What you’re really meant to do
- Reinventing you - define your brand, imagine your future
- Tribe of mentors
- Future Fit
- Read me first
- Principals for success
- Mindset, the new psychology of success
